a. Home Screen – Inventory – Configuration
b. Select Product Category on Menu and hit Create
c. Add Sequence, the lower the number the more important and the higher it will show on Sales Orders. Example: 0 will show 1st, 99999 will show last. Plan this out so your products show on orders in the correct location.
d. Add accounting accounts – Income, expense, stock accounts + automated inventory costing and other set up items.
e. Accounting accounts can be overridden at the product level, but the category will be default if the product accounting area is blank.
